This year, the first New Year's cover of the women's magazine BOMOND VIP fashion is graced by a woman whose conversation with the editorial team inspired the entire publication. Alina Fanta is a Ukrainian supermodel whose work wins hearts and world catwalks. In the project “Woman of the Modern Age”, she talks frankly, beautifully, about the main thing and not only, about creativity and purpose, about the backstage of filming and about memories, about femininity and the victory of light over darkness.
Ms. Alina, your photos are amazing. Inspired by various images, bold, creative, on the verge of passion and elegance, and without exaggeration, luxurious. How do you manage to transform yourself like that? And which image is most memorable?
We live in a world where everything changes and disappears very quickly. If you want to be in trend, you need to change with the times, and that's why all my images from each photo shoot are different and not at all similar to each other. To be interesting for the audience, for designers, for photographers and to remain interesting, first of all, for myself. Of course, I remember all my images, but probably the closest and most precious images I took in peacetime were in my homeland. Therefore, these images, of course, remain forever in my soul and I miss them very much.
What is the image of a modern woman for you?
Nowadays, a woman should be strong, stress-resistant and rely on her own strength. This is how I see a woman of today.
Your professional path is very inspiring. What advice would you give to girls, women who are just at the beginning of their careers?
“I'm not at the age to give out advice yet,” Alina says with a smile on her face. “I think everyone should have their own path. And the main thing is experience and your own goal. And, frankly speaking, few people use other people's advice. Listening to your heart and following your own path remains the most important thing.
Does life always have both bright and dark sides? Have you ever had moments when you wanted to leave everything behind and go into another field?
I want to bring beauty to this world and give beauty to everyone around me. However, this is not my main source of income. This is my outlet and what gives me the strength to live. I want to improve myself and make the world around me a little brighter. Sometimes I go on a sabbatical, but I hope to do this as long as I have the energy. And always bring good emotions and a little bit of love and beauty to this world.
There is a lot of talk about harmony and balance nowadays. Do you manage to keep your balance in the crazy rhythm of life?
The topic of balance and equilibrium has been relevant all my life. Since ancient times, everyone has been looking for their own harmony and balance in this life. My family, the people around me, my loved ones who, no matter what, stay by my side, and of course my thoughts for the better, that everything will change in this world and good will prevail over evil, help me to keep balance. White will prevail over black.
You are very beautiful. What are your favorite daily rituals?
To be honest, I don't consider myself beautiful. Beauty is a very subjective opinion of everyone. As for my rituals...I take care of my face and body like all women, but I do have a secret: every morning I don't wash my face with water, I wipe it with a piece of ice.
Do you remember your first shoot or your first appearance on the catwalk? Tell us about the beginning of Alina Fanta's career)
It was a very, very long time ago. I was still a little girl. However, every time, every photo shoot is like having a baby for me. I get very excited before every shoot. I really want it to be perfect.
The catwalk... You know, every time I'm backstage my legs are shaking. And despite the fact that I have a very rich experience of working with different designers, each new show is like the first time. And it's wonderful.
December is always a time of fairy tales, when you want to believe, dream, and fall in love with life. If every woman on the planet could hear you now, what message would you like to leave?
For me, the meaning of the New Year is to get another chance, a chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more and not to worry about what happened. To accept life as it is.
And of course, for Ukrainian women, I would like to wish them a peaceful sky, so that their relatives, children, and our soldiers do not die, so that everything ends quickly. Of course, only with the victory of a prosperous Ukraine.
